  Peoples of bangalore are always looking for a weekend retreat and break from the hectic schedules. camping near Bangalore is suddenly on a rise in order to feel and see the natures beauty to get rid from the hectic work done in the week days. so here are the few camping places near bangalore with brief description.

  1.Nandihills
                      

   i will talk about my recent visit to nandi hills and share my experience at nandi hills. it is located 60km away from bangalore city, which will take around 2 hours to travel. it is 1478m in height which is probably around 1.5 in km. People from all over the world visit this place in order to see sunrise and sunset in clouds where you can see different colors in clouds which is due to dispersion of light.
               
Preferred mode of getting to nandi hills:
  • Your own bike or car
  • A car hired from zoomcar, carzonrent and the likes

2.Savandurga hill

savandurga hill is located near bangalore which around 60km away from the city which will take around 2 hours to travel. people all over the world come to visit this place for trekking. To reach the peak of the hill you have to walk for more than 3 hours. Height of this hill is around 1200m and 1.2 in km which is next to to nandi hill. Savandurga consists of two hills one is Billigudda and the other is Karigudda. it has also got a fort called savandurga fort or savinadurga for which means fort of death. so technically this hill was named after this fort. this fort was built by kempegouda II and later it was conquered by tipu sultan.
                                                    while travelling to this hill you have to pass through Manchanbele dam which is situated 5-7 km before the hill and also you have to pass through savandurga forest. people from different villages around this hill come to this dam for fishing.

3. Doddamakali

          Doddamakali is located on the bank of cauvery. doddamakali is 140kms away from bangalore city. This camp site gives you all solemn peace and rejuvenation. In kannada, dodda means big and makli means medicinal plants where these plants are grown here abundantly. people traveling to this place can frequently spot kingfisher, black-bellied river tern, osprey, and grey-headed fish eagle. Animals like  elephants, jackals, sambar, leopard, and grizzled giant squirrel can also be seen around the camp.
                                      Things offered to people when they vist this place Coracle rides in Cauvery, fishing, angling, bird watching and exploring untouched trails.

                           Avalabetta is located at chikballapur, it is 85kms away from bangalore city.The views from the top are extremely stunning and awesome, with rockiness and greenery around. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the temples when you’re there.
                        

 

 5.Wonderla

    Wonderla is an leading amusement water park, which is located near bidadi which is probably around 28kms away from bangalore city. It is spread over 82 acres in area. it has 55 land and water-based rides. It has a full fledged dance floor with a twist electronically controlled rain showers. Inside wonderla it has five restaurants with a total seating capacity of 1,150.
                  it has got wonderful activities for kid in wonderla such as dry rides, water rides, kid rides etc. A day spent in wonderla is a day spent well.

       Ramanagar a perfect place for trekking in south india, it is also well known for a land of fine silks and weaves. it is located around 50 kms away from bangalore city. One of the most iconic movie(SHOLAY) of bollywood was shot in ramanagar.  There are seven major hills in Ramanagara they are as follows Yatirajagiri, Shivaramagiri, Somagiri, Revannasiddeshwara Betta, Krishnagiri, Sidilakallu Betta and Jalasiddeshawara Betta.

 

7. Anthargange

   Anthergange, this site is well known for caving and night camping near Bangalore. it is located 70kms away from bangalore. Things to be offered when people visit this place Night trekking, caving, bonfire, and stargazing at midnight from the peak.series of caves formed out of volcanic rocks here is a unique offering of Anthargange. Anthergange is a part of Shatha Shrunga mountain range and comprises of rocky outcrops that are ideal for trekking & mountain hiking.


8.Bannerghatta national park

Bannerghatta national Park is located about 22 Kms south of Bengaluru city. it is one among the few places in the world , where wilderness is preserved so close to a big city. it has different units like Zoo, Safari, Butterfly Park and Rescue Center.All kinds of species are to be found in this park. it is 104.3 km² in area.


9.Bannathi betta

Bannathi betta is located mid way between Konanadoddi and Kyathanahalli. it is located 55kms away from bangalore city. it is also known for trekking and camping which is nearest to Bangalore city. the untouched beauty and biodiversity  around this hill ensure a peaceful retreat to the  people of bangalore. things that we can do here is  ladder walk, target shooting,Balance walk, trekking,treasure hunt, rappelling  and boating.

 

10. Bheemeshwari

Bheemeshwari is a Wildlife Sanctuary and it is located between  Gaganachukki,Mekedat and Barachukki which comes under Mandya District. it is located around 103 kms away from bangalore city which takes 2 and half hour to travel to bheemeshwari through vehicle. Otters, leopards, elephants, wild boars, crocodiles and others can be spotted her in this sanctuary. Activities that are offered on visting this place  water sports, trekking as well as for other outdoor. bheemeshwari is most beautiful and greeenary place in south karnataka.
